Course Outline

Career Life Education (CLE 11) in Chilliwack is a mandatory 4-credit course required for graduation in British Columbia and it's part of the BC Ministry of Education's Career Education curriculum, which focuses on guiding students to manage their life journey, set personal goals and explore post-graduation possibilities. 

Core Components of the CLE 11 Syllabus:
The course includes the following key areas while utilizing the MyBlueprint platform for portfolio creation:

  • Career Exploration:  Researching career options, post-secondary opportunities and labour market trends.
  • Self-Assessment: Identifying personal strengths, interests, passions and skills as as well areas for further development. 
  • Job Readiness:  Developing resumes, cover letters and understanding workplace etiquette and safety.
  • Financial Planning:  Budgeting for post-graduation life, including tuition and cost-of-living planning. 
  • Digital Literacy:  Managing public and personal profile in a professional context as well as keyboarding and coding skills.
  • Life Management:  Building skills for a balanced, healthy lifestyle.

Lab Expectations:

  • No food or drinks in the computer lab!!!! 
  • Attend all classes. If you are absent, it is your responsibility to make up the work (not mine). 
  • Complete all of the assignments to the best of your ability. You will not succeed in this class if you don’t do the work. 
  • Be prepared in your seat, when the second bell goes 
  • Only one person talks at a time. This includes any/all announcements. Do not be typing on the keyboard or playing with your mouse also falls under this category. 
  • Leave your area as you found it. Push in your chair, log out of the computer , the equipment should be in the condition you found it. 
  • CLOSE THE CLASSROOM DOOR!!!
  • Do not live on your cellular phone, if I notice it, I will take it away.
